Why Cans? A No‑Brainer.
Cans are the most misunderstood upgrade in craft beer. They are better for the planet and better for your beer — period.
Sustainability
- Superior recyclability: Cans contain 3×–20× more recycled content than bottles, with highly efficient recovery systems (Craft Brewing Business).
- Low energy use: Recycling aluminum saves up to 95 % energy compared to producing new metal (Wikipedia).
- Lower carbon footprint: Life-cycle studies show cans emit less CO₂ per litre than glass (Aluminum Association).
- Proven circularity: In Switzerland, 90 % of cans are recycled (NomOQ).
Quality & Freshness
- No light-strike: Cans fully block UV, preventing skunky off-flavours (The Drinks Project).
- Less oxygen pickup: Modern canning reduces O₂ ingress compared to bottles (Cheer Glass).
- Faster chilling: Aluminum cools more quickly, ideal for real-world serving (Food & Wine).
- Portable & safe: Cans go anywhere — with no glass risks (The Drinks Project).
Bottles may look classic. But if you care about flavour stability and footprint, cans win in every real‑world metric. That’s why our flagship range is canned or kegd on site within hours of packaging approval.
From Grain to Can
Malt & Mash
Swiss and select EU malts, stepped temperature rests for body, fermentability, and style‑true profiles.
Boil & Hop
Clean bittering and expressive late hops — from classic noble to new‑school aromatics.
Ferment & Can
Temperature‑controlled fermentation, then on‑site canning/kegging to lock in peak freshness.
Consistency without Compromise
A fully automated brewhouse handles precision steps repeatably — temperatures, timings, transfers. The art stays where it belongs: in recipe design, ingredient selection, and sensory calibration. Automation reduces variance so each batch tastes exactly as intended.
Andermatt Water: A Blank Canvas
Our alpine water is remarkably soft — essentially “empty.” That’s ideal for brewing because we can mineralise with precision (Ca, Mg, Cl⁻, SO₄²⁻) to match each beer style. Instead of fighting hard water (too much calcium or sodium), we build the profile we want, every time.
